Mountaineering grades
NettetShortly known as YDS, it is another widely used mountaineering grading system. Sadly, unlike the French approach, it doesn’t take ice nor snow into consideration. The main advantage is that it is easier to understand. The grades range from 1 to 5, with 5 being the most difficult of all.
