I've used a bungee cord around my waist instead of the straps. The bungees hold my summit viper together while walking in. I just put them to another use in the tree. WebWhich summit do you have? I think the way they show to carry them is with the cables down. I switched mine to have the cables up when I carry it. Makes it much easier to pack in. Also changing the straps helps tremendously. I changed my straps to two gun slings which were decent. A lot of guys use the Molle II straps which I heard are very good.
